Safety on the mobile phone

Recommendations

• Activate automatic PIN block.
• Install anti-virus software on your phone
• Do not trust public networks. Many public wireless networks do not guarantee security. When browsing on a public network, only access sites with certificates (https).  Everything you do may be seen by another person.
• Take care with fraudulent SMS/MMS messages. Do not follow links in unsolicited SMS/MMS messages that may involve downloading content to your phone. You could allow a virus or trojan into your phone.
• Keep phone/tablet software updated. Only download applications from trusted sites, such as those of the manufacturer, Apple Store, Play Store.
• Make backups of important data on your portable device
• Deactivate unused connectivity such as WiFi, bluetooth, IR, GPS etc.
